Textbooks and manuals cover driving from an academic and legal standpoint much like a recipe gives ingredients. Actual driving requires knowing how the ingredients come together.

BASIC NEW DRIVER IN-CAR TRAINING

All behind-the-wheel training is on an individual basis and the student is picked up at home, school, work, etc. and then returned after a one hour lesson. The first lesson is in a parking lot where the student completes several exercises that will show speed control, eye control, steering, turning, backing and braking. That approach gives the student an opportunity to get used to the training vehicle and the trainer, and the trainer learns what the student's current skill level is before going on the roads. The rest of the training progresses to driving in neighborhoods, on two-lane roads, four-lane roads, and interstates as the skills increase. The rate of development determines how many lessons it will take. For instance, driving on four-lane roads requires good lane changing skills. A learner's permit is required.

INDIVIDUAL IN-CAR TRAINING

Individual hourly sessions with a trainer can be arranged. All in-car training will be in a vehicle equippedwith dual braking. A student who desires such training on public highways needs a learners or drivers license.

DRIVERS EDUCATION CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

A Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the Basic New Driver In-Car Training program which many insurance companies will use to render a discount for a teen driver.
